About Me

Nafisa has an extensive music education having received two  degrees in Music.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bishkek Music College majoring in Piano, Voice, Chorus Conducting, Methodology and Pedagogy of teaching music.  Nafisa did not stop there and also achieved a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the Bishkek Institute of Fine Arts where her background is being classically-trained.  Additionally, she has studied piano with Yelena Kuzmenko of Kharkov Conservatory of Ukraine for 5-years. Studied voice with Claudia Cummings.

Nafisa has been an established member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers/American College of Musicians and of New York State School Music Association(NYSSMA) since 2004. Both associations evaluate and award students’ abilities while encouraging music education. With this, Nafisa has successfully prepared countless students for both the National Piano Guild and NYSSMA and since 2014 has annually received a certificate from the National Piano Guild Honor Roll for her achievements shown through her students. Besides both of these associations where students display their skill, Nafisa has also prepared more than 100 music recitals where students can proudly showcase their talents. 

With the immersion of European (Russian and Italian) and North American methods and techniques, Nafisa incorporates these elements when providing individual lessons. Some music fundamentals that are taught for both piano and voice lessons include but are not limited to: music and sight reading, ear training, proper posture, proper breathing and voice projection.
